The 2009 Sony TV included the Yahoo Widgets. Widgets are small applications written in Java Script that could overlay the TV screen. There was a dedicated button on the remote control to launch the widgets. The San Diego team worked with Yahoo to bring the service to the TVs and expanded it’s functionality. For example, some of the Sony original TV applications have been using JavaScript as well, allowing to more easily update the application and mange the system memory dynamically.
